Nat Ellis at recent Paperdolls Market

Hello and lovely to meet you!

Nat Ellis is a freelance French/ English illustrator who lives right in the very middle of rainy England. Nat always dreamt of being a creator, often hosting mini art shows for her family, but struggled to understand how she could make a career out of her art. It wasn’t until Nat was reading picture books to her young son that she realised that she wanted to pursue her dreams of becoming an illustrator.

With a passion for colour, character design, simple shapes and narrative, Nat creates artwork depicting animals (especially cats), that are full joy and humour.  Using bright colours and animals as a vehicle, Nat’s illustrations also comment on contemporary issues such as the importance of mental health and wellbeing and current events.

Nat has a developed a popular range of products which she sells under her own brand online and through selected retailers.  Sustainability is at the heart of Nat’s business; her line of products has been carefully curated to ensure that it is as eco-friendly and ethical as possible.  Paper stock is recycled and recyclable, plastic packaging has been removed and wherever possible, her products are manufactured in the UK by independent companies.

Nat also works as a freelance illustrator and has worked with clients including Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, and Ello Dave Design Agency.

Right now, Nat is writing and illustrating her first children’s picture book and is constantly developing her line of products.
